Surfacing the news that matter to you and your predictions today.
Hey forecasters! We’ve got a couple of big updates this week:
News Tab: It is now easier than ever to stay up to date on the latest discussions and changes in questions, allowing you to quickly drill in deeper if you want to understand more, or just keep scrolling to get updated on other questions. We surface those questions to you in two ways:
Likely outcomes: The community often normalizes swiftly as news breaks on what the most likely outcome will be. Look to these to see where people are standing based off of the news of today and cast your forecast for or against the trend!
Hot Debates: Often there are times where as a community we can’t really settle on the most likely outcome but net out with a good amount of trading activity. Put some points in and create a Forecast to see where you fall.
Link previews: Now the reasons across the app highlight the sources you are bringing to this community at the forefront. This will make it easier to highlight useful news and let you quickly dig into sources from others and improve your own predictions.
Making it easier to join in on the conversations:
Revamped hot sort ranking algorithms to surface more relevant and useful reasons across the app.
Redesigned view for your reasons; highlighting the positions you took and connecting your insights into the broader question experience itself.
Upvote/downvote reasons throughout the app. If you found a reason filled with insight give it an upvote; if the reason you’re seeing didn’t teach you anything new give it a downvote.
Comment on any reason. Earlier in 2021 we made it possible for you to comment on any reason even if you didn’t make a forecast yourself; giving everyone the opportunity to learn from each other.
Share: we made it easier to share a reason externally, just with one tap. We’ve been constantly learning from this community and hope you want to share that learning with others too!
Our goal is to tell you what happened today, what that means for questions that matter to you. We hope you love these changes as much as we do.
As always, please let us know if you have any feedback!
